2022 September Cat
Each month in 2022 I have been publishing a new cat pattern! This month’s square can be used in the full blanket or it can be the “v” in “Love” along with 2022 March Cat, 2022 June Cat, and December Cat (which hasn’t been published yet!
The interlocking pattern has been updated as of 3pm on September 1, 2022 – You can see the mistake in a lot of these photos but the correct version of this pattern should look like CarolinevdB’s mosaic sample. My corrected interlocking samples are shown in this video below. (If you can’t see the mistake, it is right where the tail goes straight up – shouldn’t be a bulky section).
You can grab the eBook (which will be updated monthly and is a great deal!), 2022: A Year of Cats or just pick your favorite squares. The eBook and the individual squares are available on Ravelry and Etsy. You also have the option of buying the eBook directly from me here on my website (and you’ll have the monthly updates emailed to you).
All of these links are just to the side if you’re using a browser window, or at the bottom if you’re viewing on your mobile (click here to jump to the September Cat links, or click below to view more about the eBook).
No matter what platform you use to get your copy of ‘September Cat’, you will receive two files (one for each technique).
You will receive one file containing:
the interlocking written line-by-line pattern
a one-page chart (81 x 81)
And another file with:
the mosaic written line-by-line pattern (including instructions for an envelope border)
an X-marked chart (77 x 77)
The interlocking mesh dots and border lines have been removed for the overlay mosaic version of the pattern.
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.
I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links.
