Another New Beloved Alphabet Pattern!

And an update on my plans!

Beloved H

Did you guess this might be the next letter published? Quite random, isn’t it? I have a spreadsheet to help me keep track of it all because doing it ‘out of order’ was starting to confuse me as I drew them. I think I got a bit stuck on the “C” (how do I make it look fancy? It’s just a half curve!) and in order to move past that block I decided to do them out of order. Other creative-types might understand? Or is it just my weird brain?

Just like with the “A”, “Beloved H” is on sale for the next two weeks. It will automatically be 30% off but you, dear newsletter subscriber, can override that code and use this 50% off code instead! Offers end Aug 7, 2024.

Thank you to Nessa Miller and Angela Kermack for testing Beloved H!

Thank You!

As always, I end with a thank you because I’m truly thankful that your support allows me to be creative (for my sanity! lol), be at home with my kids (Alice, Remington, and Melody), and support my family (while my husband works away from home 3 days a week)!

Our cat, Popcorn, doesn’t seem too fond of our new neighbors. But he still likes to be with me in the garden.

Here in Saskatchewan, we’ve been under a heat warning for weeks. It’s draining and triggers my migraines. I had to call my husband home from work last week because I was vomiting for hours and my 9-year-old isn’t quite old enough to be mom for the day. This week we’ve continued with heat warnings but they’ve also added air quality warnings due to the forest fire smoke. As you can imagine, this has meant my brain is not functioning at peak efficiency lol

I have such big plans for my patterns and for my website but life keeps getting in the way.

Coming soon?

I really wish I had a timeline ready with a big Grand Opening date, but all I can tell you is that I’m working on my website as much as possible because I’d love to sell my patterns directly from my own webstore.

I like Ravelry, there are a lot of great features, but I have SO MANY designs that it’s hard to really navigate through it all.

I don’t really like Etsy. They don’t allow me to update patterns for customers, the fees are extravagant, they don’t support small businesses well at all, and I’m often having to deal with their app’s inability to download digital patterns.

I do feel like this ‘news’ may be less-than-exciting for many of you. If you already have most of my patterns who cares if I get another platform set up! But it’s something that I really want/need to do and once it’s done I can put more time back into new designs!

My own webstore, coming soon?

An Advertisement

Sporadically, my newsletter host has ad opportunities. I turn most of them down because I don’t want to fill your inboxes with junk. And I don’t make millions off the ones I share anyway. (Last time I made $6). But this one sounded cool to me. I LOVE reading and I will write a novel someday. I think I’d likely published a book about crochet patterns or maybe tips on the techniques or something before I get around to writing a romance novel but the dream is there nonetheless!

So, check this ad out if you want. No harm done if you scroll by and ignore it.
