Happy New Year!

Let's get this party started!

I’m hoping 2024 brings joy!

One new thing I’m trying this year is this ‘boost’ shown below. My newsletter host (beehiiv) allows us to earn revenue by sharing other newsletters. We have to apply and explain why we’d be a good fit. I chose this podcast one because I know people like to keep their hands on their yarn and reading can be difficult, so podcasts and audiobooks are good options for us! If you subscribe in the next 30 hours (and convince their algorithm you’re real) I’ll make some money.

Back to Ashlee

I have never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions. As a kid in grade school I’d sneer at these fake platitudes. We did the assigned task for the teachers, but no one was actually going to stop fighting with their siblings or start eating all their veggies. As I got older, my opinions on this didn’t really change.

For me, a goal has to be reasonable. And this year, I’m stretching my limits a bit and reaching for joy. Joy in the small moments. Joy in the everyday. I will create magic in my life and bring joy to myself and my family.

Hopefully, I’ll bring a little bit of joy to you as well.

I can’t make promises about which patterns will get updated or how many new designs I’ll come out with. The only guarantee I’m promising you is the Year of Dogs series. After that, it’s all bonus material in my mind.

Normally, around the first of the month I’d be telling you about the next dog square in this year’s series of large squares. I published January Dog a few days early so there’s a little bit less excitement now but February will be here sooner than you know!

2023 Summary

I’ve compiled a list of my new patterns and tutorials from 2023 to help me focus on my accomplishments. I posted it to my website (you can read it at https://ashleeslint.com/2024/01/04/looking-back-at-my-projects-patterns-in-2023/). I didn’t write a lot of negative things but I did think a few of them. lol

My biggest trouble of 2023 was illness. Between migraines and the family getting the flu and me getting run down through it all, being sick has been the major hurdle for my ability to get things done in 2023.

I hope 2024 will go better. But more than just ‘hoping’ I am also going to actively work on making sure my body gets what it needs (like sleep and exercise) so I can be strong enough to manage what comes my way.

Speedy Train Update

If you purchased Speedy Train on Ravelry you should have found an update in your library. If you used Etsy you should have received an email directly from me.

I updated Speedy Train in April of 2023 to have the solid, adjusted mosaic crochet option but there was an error in the foundation row which has just now been fixed. My apologies!

Newsletter 50% Off Promotion

I will be changing our featured pattern in the middle of each month this year. The code has changed to say ‘2024’ but our featured pattern remains Comfort Cat until the middle of the month.

This promotion is valid to my newsletter subscribers only. Subscribe at ashleeslint.com/newsletter.

Thank you!

I truly am thankful you’ve allowed me into your inbox.

I’m most active on Facebook, but I do diligently check every method of communication I have available. Reach out.

Wishing you all the best,

Ashlee
