New Pattern: February Dog
Plus a poll & other important things
Quick Overview
I tried to get this email sent last night but my little boy had a fever and I wasn’t able to do my major ‘work’ after bedtime because I was dealing with him. I managed to publish “February Dog” at least! And he’s back to his normal self today.

Every morning, before I can get to my computer I must wade through Lego or cars or dinosaurs. Tiny house means all surfaces must be used for more than one purpose.
I know you have better things to do than read boring emails (like crocheting!) so I’ll give you a quick jot point view of today’s email first:
“February Dog” has been published

February Dog
This month’s dog square from “2024: A Year of Dogs” features a heart-shaped dog on a background of Many Hearts. Read more at https://ashleeslint.com/2024/01/31/february-dog/
Regarding updates: I’ve had two important questions about these updates.
On Etsy: officially, Etsy doesn’t do updates. Whenever you purchase the eBook listing you get access to however many months have been published at that time and that’s it. I email you the next month’s patterns directly. It comes from [email protected] so you can search for me and find it easier that way perhaps. Adding me to your safe list and replying to my email also tells the systems that you want those emails to be considered safe and important.
On Ravelry: eBook updates are easier to find but there are still two things to note. One, Ravelry includes a list of ALL the files available, not just the files that are new or changed. The list is not shown in any sort of order either (which is frustrating to me because I take the time to label and order the files - and this shows during the original purchase - but I’ve learned that in the update the files are listed haphazardly for some reason. With just January and February it’s not too hard to find the files, but at the end of the year it can get overwhelming. I don’t have any control over that bit, sorry.
And two, purchasing the eBook listing does not give you access to the individually listed patterns. Logically we know they’re the same thing, but according to the system “January Dog” is not “2024: A Year of Dogs” even though it is included in the eBook. You can only access the files through the eBook listing.

I used light purple and green for my squares. Black is the Main Color (MC) for both squares.
Sunflowers & Butterflies Flash Sale
You may have heard that I have a lot of updating to do on my website. I’m trying to get all my old blog entries updated to have better formatting and usable buttons (when I switched webhosts it sort of destroyed that). It’s also on my list to get older patterns updated to have a solid, adjusted overlay mosaic crochet option.
I put a flash sale on “Sunflowers and Butterflies” to celebrate an updated webpage. It’s still on the list to get an updated solid mosaic crochet option.
You’ll save 25% on this pattern until 11:59 pm CST February 3, 2024. No codes needed, valid on Ravelry and Etsy.
Sneak Peek
The patterns planned for 2024 are all the dog squares (of course) and a lot of new Beloved Alphabet baby blankets.
In May 2023 I published “Beloved B” where the B stood for Baby.
I had a lot of requests for other letters but I at the time I just couldn’t get them created. With 25 more letters in the alphabet, and each letter needing to be designed for both interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet, plus right- and left-handed options, that means I’ll be creating 100 more pattern files just to get the alphabet out.
The idea of it all was overwhelming and got a bit hung up on the logistics of how to publish 25 patterns all at once.
So, I won’t be publishing them all at once!
And they also won’t be published in alphabetical order. We already went out of order by starting with B. They’ll be published in a slightly random order and spread out over as much time as it takes.
I do have a list of top-requested letters and I’ll try to get those out sooner than non-requested letters but ultimately it comes down to having testers willing to do the letters.
So, here’s a sneak peek at the blanket that will be published next (planned for end of March). Can you tell which letter will it be?

Next Crochet-A-Long?
The date of our next CAL will be dependent on which of these options wins. A new blanket will take longer than a little design, but a video of Evelyn’s Repeat will take the longest for me to prepare. A repeat of the Mother’s Day CAL will be the easiest/quickest option for me but is maybe boring for those who participated in it already.

Last month I started adding these ‘boosts’ to my newsletter. If you’re not interested in any of these other newsletters, don’t worry about it, I’m not trying to trick anyone into signing up. I may earn a commission for recommending these other newsletters found at https://ashleebrotzelldesigns.beehiiv.com/recommendations.
Thanks again for everything, I leave you with a little video montage I put on Instagram (actually I’m not 100% sure if it will show in a newsletter?).
Love and hugs,
